Guercif: ONEE is working to ensure the continuity of the supply of the Mazguitam Center with drinking water

Oujda – The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE-Water Branch) has announced that due to the excessive heat wave in the Kingdom, which coincides with Eid Al-Adha, the demand for water Drinking water is becoming increasingly strong in the Mazguitam Center (Guercif province), where consumption exceeds production capacity, especially during peak periods.

The Office explained in a press release that this increase in demand causes a decrease in the pressure of drinking water which can go as far as the interruption for the high altitude supply points (douars kandbourou and Bouhlalifen) and multi-storey constructions.

As part of the efforts to ensure the continuity of the drinking water supply to the inhabitants of the Mazquitam Center and in anticipation of Eid Al-Adha, ONEE has taken a series of proactive measures focusing mainly on securing drinking water reserves by filling the reservoirs, and the mobilization of operating teams and technical and logistical resources to ensure rapid intervention, if necessary.

The measures taken also concern the supply of the inhabitants of the douars of Kandbourou and Bouhlalifen with drinking water from tankers which have been made available for this purpose since July 19 in coordination with the local authorities.

In this regard, the office calls on its customers to rationalize their drinking water consumption, ensuring that its teams will combine efforts to secure the centre’s drinking water supply.

According to the press release, the services of the Office remain at the disposal of the customers, and for more information it is necessary to contact the following numbers: 06.10.20.36.09 or 07.67.83.57.30.
