The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week from June 07 to 11, 2021, in positive territory, its main index Masi gaining 0.7% to 12,462.8 points.
The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), made up of the 20 most liquid companies, rose by 0.9% to 1,022.37 points, and the Madex, a compact index made up of continuously quoted stocks, rose. 0.66% to 10,133.58 points.
The benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) “Casablanca ESG 10” index gained 0.11% to 930.65 points.
At the international level, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 improved by 1.74% to 11,811.64 points and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid gained 0.48% to 10,634.26 points.
This upward movement has its origin in particular in the sector “Participation and real estate development” which achieved the best performance this week, with a gain of 14.80%, followed by the index “Forestry and Papers” (+ 12.77% ) then “Chemistry” (+ 7.68%).
On the other hand, the “Leisure and Hotels” sector lost 4.12%, while that of “Transport” dropped 2.53%.
In the process, the overall volume of trade amounted to more than 1.5 billion dirhams (billion dirhams). Market capitalization stood at more than MAD 640.1 billion.
The best weekly performances were achieved by Résidences Dar Saada (+ 16.76%), Alliances (+ 15.75%) and Douja Prom Addoha (+ 14.08%).
On the downside, IB Maroc.com, Managem and Risma showed the strongest declines with 5.28%, 4.13% and 4.12% respectively.
With a transaction volume of more than 374.25 million dirhams (MDH), Wafa Assurance was the most active instrument of the week grabbing 25.06% of transactions, followed by Itissalat Al-Maghrib with 171.60 MDH (11.49%) and Cosumar with 130.60 MDH (8.75%).
