EP resolution: the parliament of Sao Tome and Principe regrets involvement in a purely bilateral crisis
Sao Tome – The President of the National Assembly of Sao Tome and Principe, Mr. Delfim Santiago Das Neves, has expressed his rejection of the resolution adopted on Thursday by the European Parliament (EP), regretting an intervention in a purely bilateral crisis .
The European parliament cannot get involved in a purely bilateral crisis, Das Neves told MAP, noting that it is a bilateral crisis that can be resolved by diplomatic means or with aid. direct bilateral negotiation between Morocco and Spain.
“The European Parliament must not get mixed up in this crisis,” he insisted.
For the president of the National Assembly of Sao Tome and Principe, the European parliament should call on the two parties to resolve the crisis bilaterally instead of taking a stand.
He took this opportunity to greet on behalf of the parliament of Sao Tome and Principe the decision of HM King Mohammed VI to facilitate the return of unaccompanied Moroccan minors in an irregular situation in certain European countries.
Mr. Das Neves also wished to recall the role of Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in the fight against illegal immigration, human trafficking and terrorism, noting that the Kingdom fully respects the principles of partnership linking it to the European Union.
