The situation in occupied Al Quds and the Al Aqsa Mosque, will be the focus of an emergency meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Union, which will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the meeting, which will be held in virtual mode, will be marked in particular by speeches and interventions by heads and representatives of Arab councils and parliaments and will be sanctioned by a final declaration.

The meeting is being held at the same time as an urgent session of the UN Security Council on the Israeli escalation in Al Quds and the exchange of attacks with Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.

This closed session will take place at the request of Tunisia, Norway and China.

On Monday, the first meeting held at the request of Tunisia ended without any joint declaration from the Council, the United States refusing “at this stage” to adopt a draft declaration proposed by Norway.
