Morocco has recorded 236 new cases carrying the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases identified at the national level since the start of the epidemic to 513,864.
Currently, the total of active cases increases to 3,878, of which 241 are in serious condition. In terms of national incidence, the rate rises to 1,412.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Over the last 24 hours, the incidence has reached 0.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the number of people fully vaccinated (having received the first and second dose) has reached 4,390,752 while those having received the first dose of vaccine is estimated at 5,473,809 according to the Department of Health.
As for the geographical distribution of the new cases identified in Morocco in the last 24 hours, it is the region of Casablanca-Settat which comes first with 151 new infections including 113 in Casablanca, 14 in Nouaceur, 12 in Médiouna, 5 in Mohammedia and in Berrechid, 2 in El Jadida.
Second region in the ranking on Sunday, the region of Laâyoune – Sakia El Hamra with 21 new cases including 20 in Laâyoune and 1 case in Boujdour. It is followed by the region of Rabat – Salé-Kenitra with 17 cases including 6 in Salé, 5 in Kénitra, 4 in Rabat, 1 in Sidi Kacem and Sidi Slimane.
For its part, the Marrakech-Safi region has 14 coronavirus infections, all located in Marrakech. Close results for the regions of Souss – Massa and Tangier -Tétouan- Al Hoceima which respectively identify 12 and 11 cases. Eleven cases in Agadir-Ida -Ou-Tanane and 1 case in Chtouka- Ait Baha for the first and 3 cases in Tanger-Assilah and Ouezzane, 2 in Chefchaouen and Fnideq, 1 case in Larache.
The rest of the regions recorded less than 10 cases like the region of Fez – Meknes with 5 infections distributed between 3 cases in Fez, 2 in Ifrane. For its part, the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region has identified 3 new infections all in Oued Eddahab. Finally, 1 case was recorded in Khouribga and 1 also in Azilal for the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra.
