Spain: arrest of an Algerian smuggler accused of human trafficking
Madrid – The Spanish National Police announced on Thursday the arrest of an Algerian smuggler, “member of a network specializing in human trafficking between Africa and the province of Murcia”.
The 20-year-old individual is believed to be responsible for the illegal entry of 12 illegal migrants, including three minors, to the coast of Murcia aboard an inflatable boat, the Spanish Police said in a statement.
The respondent, of Algerian nationality was part of a criminal organization responsible for recruiting nationals of the African continent to bring them to Spain irregularly, using boats that did not comply with security measures, details the police.
The constant struggle of the Provincial Brigade for Foreigners and Borders, under the Superior Commission of the Region of Murcia, has led to the arrest of 77 members active in human trafficking networks, 60 of whom are currently in prison. , adds the same source.
