Coronavirus: 76 new cases in the Casablanca-Settat region

By regions in the Kingdom, Casablanca-Settat continues to record the highest number of new cases of the coronavirus although on Monday, the trend is downward.

Hespress’s watch and monitoring platform,, thus details, this Monday, April 19, 2021, that Morocco now has 505,449 confirmed cases, 8,952 deaths (i.e. a death rate of 1.8 %), 492,100 healings, a total of 5,661,123 tests (an increase of 3,587), and 4,897 cases under treatment, of which 435 were in serious condition (17 under intubation). In addition, 4,672,326 people have received a first dose of the vaccine since the launch of the campaign while 4,188,336 are on the second dose, the health ministry said.

The most affected region is that of Casablanca-Settat which has 76 new cases including 64 in Casablanca, 7 in El Jadida, 2 in Nouaceur, 2 in Mohammedia, 1 in Berrechid. The second most affected region is that of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra which records 17 new contaminations including 5 in Salé, 5 in Rabat, 2 in Skhirat-Témara and 1 in Sidi Slimane.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is followed by that of Marrakech-Safi which identifies 16 new cases distributed as follows: 13 in Marrakech, 2 in Youssoufia and 1 in Kelaât Sraghna. The fourth region most affected by the new cases on Monday is that of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab with 9 cases all in Oued Eddahab.

The Oriental region has experienced 8 cases and came in fifth position with 4 cases in Oujda-Angad, 2 in Driouch, 1 in Nador and 1 in Touarirt. Souss-Massa is the sixth of the affected regions with 6 cases, 4 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 1 in Taroudant and 1 in Inezgane Ait Melloul. Next comes in seventh place, the Beni-Mellal-Khénifra region with 3 cases, two in Beni-Mellal and 1 in Khouribga. The Draâ-Tafilalet region recorded two cases, one in Ouarzazate and the other in Tinghir and finally the Tanger-Tétouan-Al-Hoceima region recorded one case in Tétouan. The regions of Fez-Meknes, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Guelmim Oued Noun did not experience a case on Monday, April 19, 2021.
