Morocco has recorded 663 new cases carrying the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases identified at the national level since the start of the epidemic to 499,688.
Currently, the total of active cases increases to 6,472, among them, 454 cases are in serious condition. In terms of national incidence, the rate rises to 1,374.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Over the last 24 hours, the incidence has reached 1.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the number of people fully vaccinated (having received the first and second dose) has reached 4,410,023 while those who have received the first dose of the vaccine is estimated at 4,410,023, according to the Department of Health.
As for the geographical distribution of the new cases identified in Morocco in the last 24 hours, it is the region of Casablanca-Settat which comes first with 482 cases including 365 in Casablanca, 33 in Nouaceur, 30 in Mohammedia, 16 in Settat, 12 in Benslimane, 10 in Berrechid, 8 in El Jadida and in Mediouna.
The second region to have recorded the highest daily toll, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, which has accumulated 52 new infections spread over 6 cities. 17 cases have been recorded in the city of Kénitra, 9 in Skhirat-Témara, 8 in Salé and Sidi Slimane, 7 in Rabat and 3 in Sidi Kacem.
Similar results for the regions of Marrakech-Safi and Souss-Massa which respectively identify 32 and 30 positive cases for covid-19 on Wednesday. For the first, the cases are distributed as follows: 27 in Marrakech, 2 in Chichaoua and Rhamna and 1 in Kelaa des Sraghna. And for the second, as follows: 13 cases in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 7 in Tiznit, 5 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 4 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 1 in Taroudant.
For its part, the Oriental region follows with no less than 24 new cases recorded in 6 cities, including 7 xas in Taourirt, 6 in Oujda-Angad, 4 in Nador, 4 in Berkane, 2 in Jerada and 1 in Driouch. .
Similar results also for the following regions Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (14 cases including 6 in Tanger-Assilah, 4 in Tétouan, 2 in M’diq-Fnideq and Larache.) And Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (10 cases, all located in Laâyoune).
The rest of the regions had results of less than ten cases, as for Beni Mellal-Khénifra with 6 cases evenly distributed between Khouribga, Khénifra and Beni Mellal.
A total of 4 infections have been identified in the region of Fès-Meknes including 3 in Fès and 1 in Meknes, and the rest of the regions show 3 cases for Drâa-Tafilalet (all in Errachidia), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (all in Oued Eddahab) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (all in Sidi Ifni).
