The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, began a two-day working visit to the Kingdom on Wednesday.
Infantino’s visit, who was greeted on his arrival by the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, is part of the consolidation of the strong relationship between FIFA and officials of the FRMF.
As part of this visit, he met the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita.
During his visit, the FIFA president will discuss with Moroccan officials, in particular, the preparations for the general electoral assembly of the African Football Confederation, scheduled for Rabat on March 12, and the candidacy of Faouzi Lakjaa for a seat to the FIFA Council.
By announcing this visit last week, the FRMF had specified that it also aims to develop cooperation between the two bodies in the promotion of national and continental football.
