Champions League: Manchester City and Real Madrid win away

Manchester City got the better of Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0, while Real Madrid won in extremis on the lawn of Atalanta Bergamo, in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League.

Bernardo Silva (29th) and Gabriel Jesus (65th) scored both English goals in this match relocated to Budapest (Hungary) due to restrictions linked to Covid-19 in Germany. This victory allows the Citizens to take an option on qualifying for the quarter-finals, before the return match scheduled for March 16.

In the other match on the program this Wednesday, Real Madrid, long in numerical superiority, disposed of Atalanta Bergamo thanks to a goal from Frenchman Ferland Mendy. The Madrilenians spent more than 70 minutes eleven against ten after the exclusion of Remo Freuler but they found the fault only in the 86th.
