All regions of Morocco have less than 40 new cases of the coronavirus, this Monday, February 22, except those of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Guelmim Oued-Noun which has no new contaminations in the past 24 hours.
Hespress’s watch and monitoring platform, covid.hespress.com/fr, details that Morocco now has 481,263 confirmed cases, 8,559 deaths (i.e. a mortality rate of 1.78%), 465,297 healings, 4,630,610 cases excluded after negative laboratory tests (an increase of 4,890), and 7,407 cases under treatment, including 423 in serious condition (32 under intubation).
In addition, 2,552,017 people have received a first dose of the vaccine since the launch of the campaign while 23,667 are on the second dose, the health ministry said.
The Casablanca-Settat region recorded 34 new cases including 30 in Casablanca, 3 in El Jadida and 1 in Nouaceur. The second most affected region is that of the Oriental which has 29 new contaminations including 19 in Oujda-Angad, 3 in Nador, 3 in Taourirt, 3 in Driouch and 1 in Berkane.
The Oriental is followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra which identifies 19 new cases including 9 in Salé, 6 in Rabat and 4 in Skhirate-Témara. The fourth most affected region is that of Souss-Massa which takes stock of 9 new contaminations in Tiznit (9) and Agadir (4).
For its part, the region of Fes-Meknes has 5 new cases including 2 in Fez, 2 in Meknes and 1 in Taza, while that of Beni Mellal-Khénifra records 4 new infections in Azilal (2) and Fquih Ben Salah (2 ) and Marrakech-Safi observed 3 in Marrakech.
