RSK’s DRA forecasts citrus production of 600,000 tonnes

The production of citrus fruits in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, for the 2020-2021 agricultural season, should amount to 600,000 tonnes over an area of ​​26,457 hectares.

Data from the regional directorate of Agriculture in the region indicate that the production of this campaign would thus register an increase of 77% compared to the previous campaign and more than 30% compared to the average of the last five years.

Regarding the olive tree, the RSK DRA reveals that the production was 97,235 tons, on an area of ​​73,767 hectares, 8% compared to the previous campaign and more than 2.8% compared to the average of the last three years.

The DRA also emphasizes that the avocado tree is positioned as the leading producing region for avocados at the national level. With 60,000 tonnes for an area of ​​5,840 hectares, it thus accounts for nearly 86% of the dedicated national area.

This production marks an increase of 8% compared to the 2019/20 campaign and more than 37% compared to the 2018-2019 campaign.
