Tanger Med: Judicial investigation against a senior police inspector for possession of drugs and money of dubious origin (DGSN)
Rabat – The National Judicial Police Brigade opened on Friday a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office against a senior police inspector under the security district of the port of Tanger-Med, allegedly involved in a case of possession of sums of money of dubious origin, an alarm pistol and a quantity of chira.
A press release from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) indicates that a Royal Gendarmerie patrol had arrested the police officer in question in a light car on the outskirts of Oued Zem, early Friday, in the act of possession of 98 grams of chira, large sums of money of dubious origin, in national and European currencies, three Moroccan passports in the name of others, nine cell phones and an alarm gun, in addition of a hundred cartridges of 8 mm caliber, in addition to a box containing 475 metal bullets and a Moroccan license plate.
The arrested police officer was placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation entrusted by the competent prosecution to the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, in order to elucidate the circumstances of this case and to determine the origin of the objects seized in his possession and all the criminal acts with which he is accused, continues the DGSN.
The services of the DGSN have decided, in parallel, to temporarily suspend the police officer in question, pending the completion of the procedures of the judicial investigation conducted in the context of this case, the press release concludes.
