Lydec: The waters of Oued Bouskoura now “discolored and clear”

The water and electricity operator in Grand Casablanca, Lydec, assured that the water treated by the Nouaceur wastewater treatment plant (STEP) which flows into the agricultural Canal (Oued Miricane) is ” now discolored and limpid ”, after the immediate treatment of the concentrated red color discharges from an industrialist specializing in food coloring which reached Oued Bouskoura.

In a press release published on Sunday, the delegated company explained that as soon as the finding was established, Lydec took a sample of the colored water purified by the Nouaceur WWTP for analysis, and the results of the approved analysis laboratory, Labelma, have showed that the discharges comply with the standards in force and, therefore, without risk.

It is, in fact, a coloring and not a pollution, specifies Lydec, which argues that “the industrialist, which has not respected its commitment to treat the coloring upstream of its discharges, has been ordered to suspend its spills ”.
