During the period from January 12 to 15, 2021, the Casablanca Stock Exchange moved in the green in the green, its main index the Masi taking 1.48% to 11,416.19 points.
The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), made up of the 20 most liquid companies, rose 1.66% to 934.83 points, and the Madex, a compact index made up of continuously quoted stocks, rose by 1 , 53% at 9,300.51 points.
Under these conditions, the “Year-To-Date” (YTD) performance of these three barometers is respectively placed at + 1.14%, + 1.20% and + 1.09%.
Internationally, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 gained 1.46% to 10,419.11 points and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid gained 1.26% to 9,830.24 points.
Regarding the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) “Casablanca ESG 10” benchmark, it rose 1.91% to 871.35 points.
With the exception of five sectors which posted negative trends, all the other indexes of the quotation ended the week in the green, reflecting the good performance of the stock market during this period.
Weakened by its sole share Lydec, the “Utilities” sector recorded the largest decline (-5.07%), followed by that of “Beverages” (-4.08%) and “Electronic and electrical equipment »(-3.37%).
Also on the decline, the “Distributors” index dropped 0.98% and that of “Holding Companies” dropped 0.22%.
As for the winners, the “Engineering and Industrial Equipment” sector (+ 4.70%) achieved the best performance of the week, boosted by the surge of Delattre Levivier Morocco (+ 8.8%).
Among the increases also appear the sectors of “Building and Construction Materials” (+ 2.42%), “Electricity” (+ 2.29%), “Chemicals” (+ 2.25%) and “Telecommunications” (+ 0.28%).
In the process, the overall volume of trade amounted to more than 397 million dirhams (MDH). Market capitalization stood at nearly 590.88 billion dirhams (MMDH).
Regarding the best weekly performances, they were signed by M2M Group (+ 14.40%), Delattre Levivier Maroc (+ 8.80%) and Lesieur Cristal (+ 6.92%).
On the other hand, Société des Boissons du Maroc, Lydec, and Colorado showed the strongest declines with respectively -5.15%, -5.07% and -4.94%.
With a transaction volume of over 91.49 MDH, Attijariwafa Bank was the most active instrument of the week grabbing 25.39% of transactions, followed by Itissalat Al-Maghrib with 46.5 MDH (12.90 %) and Sodep Marsa Maroc with 32.21 MDH (8.94%).
