Morocco renewed as head of Arab blood transfusion service

Morocco has been reappointed at the head of the Arab Blood Transfusion Services Authority, with the extension of its mandate for the period 2020-2022, in the person of Dr Khadija Lahjouji, Acting Director of the National Transfusion Center blood and hematology.

A press release from the Ministry of Health specifies that in accordance with the provisions of the statutes of the Arab Authority, a call for candidatures has been launched for the presidency of this organization on the occasion of the 19th meeting held by videoconference on October 27 and 28, 2020. , under the supervision of the general secretariat of the Arab League and with the participation of representatives of most of the member countries.

During the same meeting, it was decided to extend the presidency assured by Dr Lahjouji for a new term, “in recognition of his efforts and achievements in the field of blood transfusion services throughout the Arab world”.

It should be noted that Morocco worked during its presidency of the body to breathe new life into its action, by involving as many member states as possible and by paving the way for a more intense sharing of expertise and experiences in matter.
