Civil aviation: the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the BEA strengthen their cooperation
Rabat – The Presidency of the Public Ministry and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Accident Investigation and Analysis (BEA) under the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, Air Transport and Social Economy, have proceeded , Wednesday in Rabat, at the signing of a joint circular to strengthen their cooperation.
Initialed by the Attorney General of the King, President of the Public Ministry, Mohamed Abdennabaoui, and the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, this circular consists of formalizing the coordination between two bodies in the field of carrying out technical investigations, in particular during the conduct of technical investigations into civil aviation accidents and incidents.
“Morocco has a position and a lead on the subject”, indicated on this occasion Mrs. Fettah Alaoui, highlighting the importance of this circular in order to comply with international standards and to update itself on certain recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization and therefore to have a working process with the Public Ministry.
The Minister also underlined the need for the convergence of Moroccan regulations with that of the European Union, which is an “extremely important” partner, highlighting the major advances made in this direction.
The realization of this cooperation between the two entities responds to a recommendation of the International Civil Aviation Organization and to the relevant recommendations of Law 40-13, on the Civil Aviation Code.
