The International Qanun Festival returns in virtual mode for its 5th edition

The International Qanun Festival, organized at the initiative of the Riyad Al-Qanun Foundation in Morocco, returns for a 5th edition, which will be held in virtual mode from December 12 to 17.

This edition, which will have as its theme “the instrument of the qanun unites hearts”, aims to expand the audience of fans of this beautiful music, will be marked by the participation of many famous musicians from Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya and Algeria, says the Foundation, which specifies that the various musical performances scheduled will be broadcast on the festival’s social media platforms.

Despite the health situation due to the coronavirus, the festival management, being firmly convinced that “true art is that which seeks to contribute to overcoming crises of all kinds”, wished to organize this cultural event in virtual version at its usual date, allowing the public to follow the various musical performances, adds the press release from the organizers.

And to believe that the exceptional circumstances that Morocco is going through, like other countries in the world, due to preventive measures to deal with the spread of the epidemic of covid 19, constitute an opportunity to expand the public and fans of the qanun instrument, by offering as many people as possible the opportunity to follow the shows through social networks, according to the festival management.

According to the Foundation, the International Qanun Festival has enjoyed a rich artistic journey thanks to the contribution of Riyad Al-Qanun-Morocco, allowing Rabat, as a city of light and capital of culture of the Kingdom, to open up to its international environment to promote the values โ€‹โ€‹of tolerance and openness, and to share creative experiences.
