The Mobile Film Festival in “Women’s Empowerment” mode

The 16th of the Mobile Film Festival is getting into the international day for the elimination of violence against women, by launching this edition under the theme ” Women’s Empowerment“.

The organizers stress in this regard: “ Like every year, we would have liked to be in the streets of our cities to demonstrate alongside associations and NGOs on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on Wednesday November 25, 2020 ″.

“Unfortunately, COVID will prevent us from doing so in many cities around the world, so we invite you to demonstrate online on social networks, in your media thanks to the films of the 16th edition of the Mobile Film Festival whose theme is Women’s Empowerment”, they inform.

A total of 1130 films from 101 countries, 57% of which are female directors, this is the record for participation, countries and especially female directors during this 16th edition!

60 films from 25 countries make up the official selection. Films from around the world tackle with creativity, humor and emotion the major feminist issues, including the issue of violence against women.

To support festival-goers in discovering the 60 films, the official selection was organized around 4 major themes, knowing that some films address several themes:

– Violence against women
– Women’s bodies
– Equality
– Identity and freedom

The 60 films in the official selection, all with French, English, Spanish and Italian subtitles, are all published on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin
