Spain: The Club of Friends of Morocco condemns acts of violence perpetrated against the Moroccan Consulate in Valencia
Madrid – The Club of Friends of Morocco in Spain on Saturday strongly condemned the acts of violence perpetrated by elements of the Polisario during a rally held in front of the Consulate General of Morocco in Valencia, while expressing its support for the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve a political solution to the Sahara issue.
In a statement, the Club of Friends of Morocco in Spain stressed that the actions committed by the thugs of the Polisario in front of the Consulate General of Morocco in this Spanish city constitute “a violation of the integrity and dignity of the consular headquarters and seriously undermining the principles and values of the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations ”.
“No demonstration organized within the framework of the right of assembly can degenerate into illegal violent actions and contrary to democratic values”, underlines the Club, made up of a large number of intellectuals, businessmen and politicians .
The Club also expressed its support for the firm decision of the Spanish government to denounce these acts and take the appropriate measures to ensure respect for the integrity and inviolability of the diplomatic missions accredited to Spain, in particular those of Morocco.
On this occasion, the Club of Friends of Morocco in Spain expressed its support for the proposals and efforts made by Morocco in the search for a viable solution to the question of the Moroccan Sahara.
