Customs seizes more than 1.5 tonnes of kif and tobacco in Kénitra

The National Customs Brigade carried out, this Friday, a control operation which made it possible to intercept a truck engaged on the National Road connecting Sidi Allal Tazi and Kenitra and to seize 1.5 tons of kif and tobacco.

In a statement, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) indicates that the search carried out revealed the presence of a large quantity of kif and tobacco carefully concealed among the boxes transported by the said vehicle.

Customs officials have counted no less than 60 packages of kif with a total weight of 1,498 kg and 80 bags of tobacco (320 kg), adds the same source.

This operation is part of the customs hunt against any form of fraud and illicit traffic which continues even during a pandemic, the press release concludes.
