The 9th edition of the Maghreb Film Festival of Oujda is scheduled in digital format from November 25 to 29. The Moroccan director, screenwriter and producer Abdeslam Kelai has been appointed to the presidency of the jury of this event which is intended to be a crossroads of meetings of artists, celebrities, filmmakers and film lovers from various countries,
Born in 1969 in Larache, Abdeslam Kelai began his career as a filmmaker in 2003 with the release of his first short film “Happy day”. He has to his credit the feature film “Malak” (2012), several television films and the television series “Aïn Al Haq”.
His latest feature film, “Red Fish”, should be released in early 2021, say the organizers.
According to the organizers, the jury of this event, organized by the Ciné Maghreb Association, also includes the Mauritanian director Sidi Mohamed Cheiguer, Algerian actress Rym Takoucht, Tunisian actress Aicha Ben Ahmed and Libyan director Osama Rezg.
In addition to the official competition, the program for this edition includes webinars on the theme “Culture and Cinema after COVID-19“, workshops on makeup, screenplay and directing and Master Classes supervised by Moroccan actors Rabii Kati and Omar Lotfi and Tunisian actress Aicha Ben Ahmed.
