Olympiakos raised against FIFA following contamination of Youssef El Arabi

Olympiakos is very angry with FIFA after the contamination of Youssef El Arabi during his international service with Morocco in the context of the double confrontation against the Central African Republic. The Moroccan international is currently in quarantine in Cameroon, a situation which greatly annoys his club.

Olympiakos has accused FIFA of paying little attention to concerns over player well-being after Youssef El Arabi, as well as Egypt’s Kouka, contracted the coronavirus during their time with their caps in Africa.

In a letter addressed to the governing body of world football relayed by Reuters, the Greek giant also said that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and its member associations were unable to effectively protect the health of their players during this international break.

“Unfortunately, FIFA paid little attention to these concerns”Olympiakos said in the letter.

The club are angry that their striker Youssef El Arabi, the top scorer in his team this season, is still in quarantine in Cameroon, as well as Kouka, who is stranded in Togo.

“Their recovery and their time of absence, as well as their return to Greece, are for the moment unknown without asking in what state they will return and if they will have to face any other health consequences of any kind. because of their illness “, considers the club.

The leaders of Olympiakos point the finger at the neglect of African countries which, according to them, failed to protect the health of their players while they were in service in the national team.

“We are forced to express our deepest disappointment at a policy which leaves clubs totally unprotected as they invest millions to try to stay alive, especially at a time when revenues are plummeting”added the letter to FIFA signed by the club’s general manager, Lina Souloukou.
