On October 17, a unit of the Royal Gendarmerie had succeeded in intercepting a truck loaded with spare parts at the exit of the Renault-Nissan plant in Tanger-Med. Two individuals involved in this operation were about to embezzle nearly 3 million dirhams of goods.
The police attack came a few days after the dismantling of a criminal network made up of 26 individuals, including several employees of the Renault factory. The defendants were not on their first flight, they were working with a gang of receivers.
The investigation, conducted by the national judicial police brigade, resulted in the arrest of 6 individuals initially. Their revelations helped dismantle the rest of the criminal network, in addition to dozens of receivers across the kingdom.
