It is a special day for the Berkanis. The Agropole of Berkane celebrated with great pomp, the coronation of the sports renaissance of Berkane (RSB), by hosting a ceremony on the occasion of its consecration to the Cup of the African Football Confederation (CAF).
Organized by the prefecture of the province of Berkane, this ceremony was attended by the wali of the Oriental region, governor of the prefecture of Oujda-Angad, Mouad El Jamai, the president of the Council of the region of Oriental, Abdenbi Bioui, the governor of the province of Berkane, Mohamed Ali Habouha, elected officials, heads of decentralized services and several personalities, in addition to the leaders, technical staff and players of the RSB.
This ceremony was also marked by the presentation of distinctions to players and members of the management and technical staff of the RSB.

Mouad El Jamai took the opportunity to salute the feat of the orange team, “The result of serious and continuous work, which made it possible to carry the colors of the RSB high and to honor Moroccan football in general on the African scene”.
For his part, Mohamed Ali Habouha stressed that the RSB is a source of pride not only for the Berkanis and the Oriental region but for all Moroccans, welcoming “RSB’s work methodology, its team spirit and the commitment and determination shown by the players and the club’s management and technical teams, collective and individual qualities which enabled RSB to overcome their defeat in the final of this cup last year and to come back even stronger to win this title ”.
For his part, the team captain, Mohamed Aziz, highlighted the efforts made by his teammates to achieve this feat, despite a particularly difficult context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected the whole sports competitions.
“This first continental trophy is a source of motivation for RSB players, determined to continue this momentum and win other titles”, he said.
