The city of Casablanca has recorded a slight increase in deaths in the past 24 hours. The national coronavirus contamination report shows this Monday, October 19 at 6 p.m., 2,449 new healings, a total of 146,421 and 48 new deaths, for a total of 2,976.
Regarding deaths, The Kingdom recorded a slight drop in new deaths from 50 Sunday to 48 on Monday. The case fatality rate stands at 1.7%.
Casablanca-Settat continues to post the highest number of deaths. In detail, the 48 deaths are distributed as follows: 17 in the Casablanca-Settat region including 15 in Casablanca and 2 in Settat.
12 deaths were observed in the Oriental region (10 in Oujda-Angad and 2 in Berkane) and 3 in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra including 1 in Kénitra and 2 in Rabat.
4 new deaths were recorded in Darâa-Tafilalet, including Midelt (2) and Tinghir (2) while the region of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima has 3 including 1 in Al Hoceima and 2 in Larache.
2 new deaths were recorded in the regions of Marrakech-Safi (1 in Marrkech and 1 in Chichaoua), Souss-Massa (1 in Agadir and 1 in Inezgane), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (1 in Azilal and 1 in Khénifra) and Fès-Meknes (1 in Taza and 1 in Meknes).
The last region to register a new death is that of Laâyoune – Sakia El Hamra in the city of Es-Samra.
