The Moroccan Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia and Resuscitation (SMAAR) wanted to send a special message to anesthetists on the occasion of the world day of anesthesia, celebrated on October 16.
“On the occasion of World Anesthesia Day, the Moroccan Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia and Resuscitation (SMAAR) warmly thanks all the anesthetists, resuscitators, nurse anesthetists, and health professionals for their unfailing dedication and their honorable sense of ethics in the exercise of their activities ”, can we read on the press release.
Despite the risks and the climate of fear of the unknown and of death, anesthesia and resuscitation professionals have not hesitated to protect the lives of our fellow citizens with courage, sacrifice and abnegation.
Indeed, more than ever this epidemic has reaffirmed the capital and central role of anesthesia resuscitation in the organization chart of any health system.
This day marks the first official demonstration of anesthesia with ether having taken place on October 16, 1846, and which since then became the annual world day of anesthesia.
The latter aims to improve the safety of anesthesia in the world and thus optimize the well-being of the patient and the healthcare professional. We reiterate our sincere thanks and our deep gratitude to all anesthetists, resuscitators, nurse anesthetists, and health professionals in general.
