More than 1,400 cases identified in the city of Casablanca

Casablanca-Settat is still leading the regions most affected by new cases of the coronavirus, this Saturday, October 17.

Hespress’s watch and monitoring platform,, details as well that Morocco has this Saturday, October 17, 170,911 confirmed cases, 2,878 deaths (i.e. a mortality rate of 1.68%), 141,381 healings , 2,846,577 cases excluded after negative laboratory tests (an increase of 22,197), and 26,652 cases under treatment, including 523 in serious condition (52 under intubation).

Casablanca remains the city most affected by the coronavirus. In terms of geographical representation, it is always the region of Casablanca-Settat which appears as the epicenter of the disease.

In 24 hours, the region recorded 1809 new ones including 1435 in Casablanca, 83 in Nouaceur, 64 in Mohammadia, 61 in Settat, 52 Berrechid and El Jadida, 33 in Médiouna, 24 in Benslimane and 5 in Sidi Bennour.

The second region to have the biggest toll is Rabat-Salé-Kenitra with a total of 475 recorded cases including 160 in Salé, 116 in Skhirate-Témara, 89 in Rabat, 83 in Kénitra, 17 in Sidi Kacem and 10 in Khemissate.

Rabat-Salé-Kenitra is followed by that of the Orientale which lists 358 new cases distributed as follows: 231 in Oujda-Angad, 44 in Nador, 34 in Taourirt, 20 in Berkane, 19 in Figuig, 7 in Jerada and 3 in Guercif.

4th most affected region is that of Souss-Massa with an assessment of 265 new cases including Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane (168), Inezgane-Ait Melloul (46), Taroudant (29), Tiznit (13) and Chtouka- Ait Baha (9).

For its part, the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region has a record of 261 new contaminations, including 91 in Tanger-Assilah, 68 in Tétouan, 46 in M’Diq-Fnideq, 21 in Chefchaouen, 19 in Al Hoceima, 10 in Larache, 5 in Ouezzane and 1 in Fahs Anjra.

The Beni Mellal-Khénifra region recorded 189 new cases distributed as follows: Khouribga (67), Béni Mellal (43), Fquih Ben Salah (43), Azilal (23), Khénifra (13).

178 new contaminations were observed in Marrakech-Safi including 124 in Marrakech, 20 in Youssoufia, 13 in Kelâa des Sraghna, 9 in Essaouira, 7 in Rehamna, 4 in Chichaoua and 1 in Al Haouz.

Below the 100 case mark is the Darâa-Tafilalet region first with 77 new cases (31 in Errachidia, 25 in Midelt, 16 in Ouarzazate, 4 in Tinghir and 1 in Zagora).

The region of Fès-Meknes draws up an assessment of 62 new cases, including 18 in Fez, 11 in Taza, 10 in Meknes, 8 in El Hajeb, 7 in Sefrou and Boulemane and 1 in Ifrane.

43 cases were identified in Guelmim-Oued Noun (26 in Guelmim, 15 in Assa-Zag and 1 in Sidi Ifni and Tan Tan). For its part, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra has 41 new contaminations between Laâyoune (30) and Es-Semara (1).

The last region to register new cases is that of Dakhla-Oued Eddaha, all concentrated in Oued Ed-Dahab (5).
